For Providers

a community of collaborators

For the sake of the healthy early development of Maine’s children, birth to age three, Early Intervention for ME collaborates with caregivers and with a wide community of providers.

Providers are essential to our mission to support the development of infants and toddlers who are either demonstrating developmental delays or have conditions that are likely to lead to developmental delays.

Our work with providers is based upon mutual respect, trust, and communication.

In our model, evidence meets expertise.

Highly effective, evidence-based models guide everything we do to support the healthy development of Maine’s young children and their families. Early Intervention for ME is based on a flexible early intervention model that builds on and strengthens parents’ expertise about their child as they develop and learn.

Early Intervention for ME works closely with home health providers, physicians, specialists in hearing and vision, childcare centers, and community and human service agencies to assure coordinated and holistic services.

The routines-based approach to early intervention is a proven one. In a family focused partnership, our specialists show caregivers how to weave early developmental strategies, unique to a child’s needs, into everyday activities supporting healthy early learning.

Babies and toddlers are primed to develop the neural connections and absorb the love of caregivers that will be vital to helping them thrive.
